A fetish is a fetish, as long as you aren’t actively hurting someone or putting someone down you should not be demonized for what turns you on.

I’ll agree that if all you think about when you see gay couples is how hot they would be in the sack, then yeah, you should mature up a lot. But people can have a fetish for gay sex without making their wish for gay rights any less meaningful and sincere. They can also have a fetish for it without advocating for gay rights.

The two can be mutually exclusive.

The issue only exists when we objectify a culture down to its parts and forget that these are people not things. We must never forget that straight, gay, or trans, we are all people to be respected and our right to a fetish should also be respected because we can no more control that than we can choose our sexual orientation.
